Readiness Associates speaker will address workplace violence in healthcare at Louisville event

Convocation & Expo expected to draw 300 industry leaders

Portland, Me., March 6, 2019 – Kathleen Pearson of Readiness Associates will speak about “Workplace Violence in Healthcare” at the American College of Health Care Administrators (ACHCA) at its 2019 Convocation & Expo on March 20 in Louisville, Kentucky.

“The unfortunate reality is that healthcare workers are vulnerable to violence,” Pearson said. “It can occur in any geographic location and any type of facility, and violence can affect patients, doctors, allied health professionals, administrative staff, and families/caregivers.

“Workplace violence is not a part of the healthcare worker’s job description, nor is it at all acceptable.”

Some 300 administrators, executives and other leaders in post-acute care and aging services are expected to attend the ACHCA event. Attendees will network, learn and celebrate award winners.

Founded in 1962, ACHCA is the only professional association devoted solely to meeting the professional needs of today's post‐acute and aging services leaders. Focusing on advancing leadership excellence, ACHCA provides professional education and certification to administrators from across the spectrum of long-term care.

In addition to saving 48 lives during her career, Pearson has led the singularly largest American Red Cross safety and preparedness division, has earned and carries multiple trainer certifications from both the American Heart Association and the American Red Cross, and serves and leads regional and national disaster response efforts, doing so for more than 30 years.

Pearson holds a master of arts degree in human services administration – non-profit management from Rider University and a bachelor of sciences degree in computer programming from Kean University.
